Welcome IBK Fellow: Banan Alhazmi

We are excited to introduce the second member of the IBK 2026 cohort, Dr. Banan Alhazmi. She received her PhD in Environmental Science and Engineering from King Abdullah University for Science and Technology (KAUST). Following her PhD, Dr. Alhazmi serves as an Environmental Consultant at the Golden Ratio Institute. Her research focuses on developing macrocycle-based membranes with enhanced molecular selectivity in organic solvents for pharmaceutical and fine chemical applications and sustainability initiatives. While at MIT, Dr. Alhazmi plans to conduct her fellowship in Professor Zachary Smith's lab within the Department of Chemical Engineering.
