Welcome IBK Fellow: Eman Alnabati

We are pleased to introduce one of our new IBK Fellows, Dr. Eman Alnabati. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at Umm Al-Qura University in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Purdue University in the United States, where her research focused on protein structural modeling using electron microscopy maps. She plans to do her IBK Fellowship research in Prof. Manolis Kellis’ lab at CSAIL. Dr. Alnabati is interested in unraveling the genetic and epigenetic factors that contribute to type 2 diabetes (T2D). Her work at MIT harnesses advanced artificial intelligence (AI) techniques, combined with computational methods and bioinformatics tools, to analyze genomic data with the goal of identifying novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets for T2D. Ultimately, she aims to contribute to the development of personalized medicine approaches for more effective diabetes management.
