During her IBK fellowship Dr. Areej Alhhazmi was part of a research team in Prof Graham Walker's lab researching legume plant peptides. The results of the study show that the peptides could have beneficial uses in treating a variety of human diseases caused by bacteria as well as potential treatment for diseases such as sickle cell anemia. This work was recently published in Nature Microbiology.
Congratulations to Dr. Areej for her contributions to this important research.
