Welcome IBK Fellow: Rawan Alghamdi

We are thrilled to announce the arrival of the first fellow for the IBK 2026 cohort, Dr. Rawan Alghamdi! Dr. Alghamdi completed her Ph.D in electrical and computer engineering from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in August of 2026. She earned her Master's from KAUST and Bachelors from Effat University. Her research focuses on developing telecommunications technologies that expand connectivity and support more equitable internet access. While at MIT, Dr. Alghamdi will work under the supervision of Professor Muriel Medard in MIT's Department of Electrical Engineering and Science (EECS).
